A Strange View From My Hotel Window

Picture taken out the window of a major hotel in Rochester, MN
I used to travel a lot. In fact, I was on the road for days at a time. When you travel a lot, you stay in a lot of motels and hotels. Some are better than others.
This particular day I was working in Rochester, Minnesota and was very tired when I got to the hotel. I checked in and trudged up to the room. When you travel a lot, the first thing you like to do is open the shades and take a look at the view. Well, you can imagine my surprise as I looked out the window and started laughing out of frustration. My view turned out to be the back of a distributor for porta johns. What a surprise!
I grabbed my camera and the rest is history. Back in those days, I was experimenting with black and white film and thus the black and white photo. I feel it actually adds to the value of the photograph.
What else can you see in the photo shown? Many times a photo is worth a thousand words and I've only elaborated with a few so here is your chance to add some "color commentary" to my collection. If your addition is worthy, you will find the quote added on the Comments to the Curator page. You can use Email to respond.
