This WPA Outhouse is still on its base in McPherson County, Kansas. It is on a piece of property that the contributor's son, Ron owns. He lives on about 80 acres in McPherson County, Kansas. It looks like a pretty good sample of a WPA Outhouse to us. The contributor recently talked to Ron and he didn't know a lot about the history of this wpa outhouse. It was given to him from a man who lived about four miles north of Roxbury, Ks. It was probably used at a wpa project in that area and Ron hauled it to an old farm house just south of Gypsum Ks. that he was living in at that time. This was in 1980 and he needed it for his personal use!! From there he moved it to his present place in McPherson county Ks. This was in 1987. Ron is married now and has built a very nice split level house at this location. His wife uses the outhouse for storage. | |
